God Sized Stories

Sermon Reflections from God Sized Stories | Rosie Thandu | November 3, 2024

This Sunday was indeed a Sunday of praise to our Great and Gracious God! The songs of praise lifted us up and prepared us to hear from Bryan and Jim. They gave testimony to God’s goodness and leading in their lives. It was pure encouragement to us as believers. The Apostle Paul often spoke of the faithfulness of the believers to both encourage them in their walk and strengthen the faith of those around them.

Rosie gave a wonderfully encouraging update on the orphanage and school in India and how God has blessed her obedience. We heard that it was not always easy to follow God but so rewarding. I was reminded of the previous weeks sermons where Pastor Alex sought to show us how God is working in our lives and leading. I wrote this in response to his sermon of October20th.

“Through life’s experiences we know that God uses all things, the hard and the easy to move us forward toward that which He has for us. Scripture confirms this in Romans 8:28 “ And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” We see how God uses the good and the hard things in life to achieve good purposes in our lives. It takes the long view to see things from God’s perspective. We also know that God is good and has good things planned for us from Jeremiah 29:11 and Ephesians 2:10. “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” “ For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”

Rosie confirmed the truth of these scriptures in her life. We can be assured that God is working in our lives and will use us for His work.

Have a blessed week.

Linda
